How long have you been doing CrossFit?  Since August 2016

What do you enjoy about CrossFit and being a member at KMC? There isn’t much I haven’t enjoyed – except for maybe burpees, and then there’s the assault bike. Actually, I love it all- such a great community of people and the coaches are amazing. I love that, as one of the older members, I can work at my own level with no judgment. Best of all – I can see a difference in my strength, stamina and confidence.

What is your favorite exercise/movement in CrossFit?  I love working with the barbell and weights, but most of all, I love the variation of the workouts. Every day is different and challenging. I have joined many gyms over my lifetime, but I have never been a 5 day a week kind of gym person, but I am absolutely hooked on CrossFit.

What is one CrossFit/fitness related goal you are working to achieve?  At my age, I am not here to compete, but just to be fit and healthy – and strong!

What is your favorite food?  I am an excellent grill cook so it would have to be steaks on the grill. I also love to smoke almost any kind of meat – definitely protein is my favorite thing to eat.

Do you have any favorite sports teams? Those who know me, know I love sports. College football is my favorite, followed by college basketball, but I love professional football as well.  Even though we have struggled in the past couple of years, Illinois is still my favorite team. After 29 years at the University and earning a masters’ degree from Illinois, I continue to be loyal #WeWillWin!

What is your all time favorite book and/or movie? I am re-reading “The Shack” right now. Great story about losing faith following a tragedy. Spoiler alert – the character reclaims his faith!  As for a movie – definitely “Fried Green Tomatoes”. I love how a seemingly mild mannered middle aged woman becomes empowered by finding her inner strength. I strive to be that kick-butt kind of Grandma!

Where is ONE place you would like to visit?  I had a boss early in my career from Scotland. I loved to listen to him talk and enjoyed the pictures he shared.
